Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy

In 2005 Epilepsy Australia in partnership with Epilepsy Bereaved (UK) published the book Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy: a global conversation in response for the need for a resource that could present a succinct picture of SUDEP bringing together both the science and the human experience in an accessible form for all interested readers.

This is a collection of considered observations on the many issues surrounding SUDEP by leading authors in the medical, legal and professional fields.

Written in plain English, this book is intended as a resource for those interested in gaining a better understanding of SUDEP.

The information provided below is drawn from this publication.

If you or your family has suffered a bereavement due to SUDEP or an epilepsy-related death, Epilepsy Australia has experienced counsellors who can help at this time.
